To commemorate the life's work of an outstanding personality and promoter of partnership between India and Germany, the Federation of Indo-German Societies in India (FIGS), Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) and India International Centre (IIC) are organizing the "Dr. Dagmar Bernstorff Commemorative Lecture" on April 29, 2019 at 18:30 at the IIC.

The keynote speech will be delivered by Dr. Wolfgang-Peter Zingelof South Asia Institute (SAI), Heidelberg University 

He will address the theme:

India and Germany: on the way to regional integration? 

The lecture will be followed by presentations by Ambassador Dr Sheel Kant Sharma (Ambassador of India to Austria & Permanent Representative to UN Office in Vienna & IAEA, Indian Governor to IAEA Board of Governors 2004-2008Secretary General SAARC 2008-2011, Distinguished Fellow, Center for Air Power Studies, New Delhi)


Prof. Dr. Ummu Salma Bava (Professor of European Studies at the Centre for European Studies, School of International Studies, JNU, New Delhi, guest faculty at the Foreign Service Institute, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, Associate Fellow of the Asia Society, New York. She is one of the leading experts in India on contemporary Indian and European foreign and security policy, European and South Asian politics, regional integration and organization and conflict resolution).
